Vintage Opal Textured Glass Floor Light with Brass Stem for Living Room

Vintage Opal Textured Glass Floor Light with Brass Stem for Living Room

The shade is hand-blown opal textured glass. Opal glass diffuses light through the material itself rather than blocking it, so the whole shade lights up rather than only the aperture beneath it, and the texture breaks the surface as light passes through.

A brass-finished metal stem carries the shade on a floor-standing base.

The fixture is rated for indoor use and produces ambient light rather than a directed beam. The pairing of textured glass and brass suits vintage, traditional, transitional and contemporary interiors — a living room, bedroom, study or reading room.

Because the glass is hand-blown, exact texture and form vary slightly between pieces.
